Total: Russia’s Yamal LNG may agree on China’s $12 bln loan soon
MOSCOW, Apr 27 (PRIME) -- Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Yamal LNG may agree to borrow U.S. $12 billion from Chinese banks already this week, Patrick de la Chevardiere, CFO of France’s Total, which holds 20% in the project, said during a conference call Wednesday.
He also said Yamal LNG was currently finalizing a tranche in equivalent of $4 billion from Russian banks.
The Yamal LNG project envisages construction of a 16.5-million-tonne LNG plant on the basis of the Yuzhno-Tambeiskoye field on the Yamal Peninsula. Russian independent gas producer Novatek holds 50.1% in the project.
